ZnO:WO3 composite as photoanode for photoelectrochemical water splitting |
초록 |
We report ZnO:WO3 composite material as a photoelectrode for photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting. The ZnO and WO3 powder were mixed with 70:30 ratio in weight percent and heat-treated at 450 oC for 2 h in air. The UV-visible spectra measurements showed that ZnO:WO3 composite can improve light absorption in comparison to the pristine ZnO and WO3 powder. The morphology and properties of samples were characterized by SEM and XRD. The ZnO:WO3 composite materials produced a photocurrent density of ∼ 3 mA/cm2 at -0.87 V (vs SCE) in 0.5 M Na2SO4 solution under the illumination of simulated solar light (100 mW/cm2 from 150 W Xenon arc lamp source coupled with an AM 1.5G air mass filter). The solar-to-hydrogen efficiency was ∼ 2 % |
