Novel synthetic polymer Via Enzymatic polymerization between Isosobide and Glutamic acid |
초록 |
A novel polymer (ISE) based on renewable isosorbide was prepared by reacting with a various ratios of isosorbide and L-glutamic acid via a one-step esterification using enzymatic catalyst, novozyme 435. The successful synthesis of the ISE was confirmed by 1H nuclear magnetic resonance, and its molecular weight was ranged from 6,000 to 14,000 g/mol. Its potential for application in biomedical field was investigated through evaluation of gene transfection efficiency. Although weak gene condensation activity and transfection efficiency were showed due to primary amines of glutamic acid, we proposes that ISE may be utilized as polymeric backbone for gene carrier if it was introduced into cationic materials and targeting ligands.
