Ion sensitive Polypepetide Block Copolymer |

Poly(L-alanine)/poly(L-glutamic acid/DL, D, and L-alanine) /poly(ethylene glycol)/poly(L-glutamic acid/DL, D, and L-alanine)/poly(L-alanine) (〔PA-PEA-PEG-PEA-PA〕) multiblock copolymers were synthesized as an ion sensitive polypeptide polymer. The dissociation constants between the metal ions and the multiblock copolymers were calculated by UV-Visible spectrometer using murexide dye. Size and secondary structure of the multiblock copolymers containing metal ions were also measured by dynamic light scattering and circular dichroism spectroscopy, respectively. The above results suggested that metal ions and the multiblock copolymers forms strong ionic complexes even in a millimolar range of the metal ion concentration. |
