A set of new conjugated polymers (P1-P4) were synthesized where 6,7-dihydro-[1,4]dioxino[2’,3’:4,5]benzo[1,2-c][1,2,5]oxadiazole or thiadiazole based monomers (A1-A4) were used as electron deficient units and hexyldecylthiophene substituted BDT as an electron rich units respectively. Here by exchanging the hetero atom of electron deficient units significant changes were observed in optoelectronic and photovoltaic properties of resulting polymers. Especially P1, P2 with oxygen analogues shows deep HOMO energy levels than P3 and P4 which contain sulfur analogues, along with this P1 and P2 showed red shift in UV-visible absorption spectra than P3, P4. Polymer solar cells (PSCs) were fabricated using the conventional device configuration ITO/PEDOT:PSS/P1-P4/PC71BM/LiF/Al. Under the optimized device conditions, BHJ PSCs of P2 delivered maximum power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 2.43%. |
