Lectano nanomaterials for the capture and separation of pancreatic cancer cell-secreted exosomes |

Diagnosis through biomarkers in the bio-fluid is still insufficient in its accuracy due to the absence of selective biomarkers for pancreatic cancer. In this study, we focused on the hypothesis that exosomes secreted by pancreatic cancer cells deliver information about the mother cancer cells and developed a method for diagnosis of pancreatic cancer by detecting exosome. Lectin proteins binding to glycans on the surface of pancreatic cancer cells were screened to develop exosome capturing technology based on lectin-sugar binding capacity instead of antibodies. The lectin-immobilized Janus nanoparticles were prepared and reacted with the target exosomes either in the tube or microchannel, confirming that the exosomes were successfully attached to the nanoparticles through fluorescent labels. |
