제목 The effect of fluorination on thermal stability of cellulose fibers
초록 Cellulose fibers are treated by fluorination in order to increase thermal stability of them. The properties of fluorinated cellulose fibers are analyzed by FT-IR, XPS and TGA. Integral procedure decomposition temperature (IPDT) and initial decomposition temperature (IDT) are calculated from TGA curves. A temperature rise in fluorination increases fluorine- functional groups on cellulose fibers. However, the introduced fluorine-functional groups are removed in the excessive conditions (fluorination treatment at 180 ℃). The IPDT of cellulose fibers is increased and IDT is decreased with increasing of fluorine-functional groups. In this study, the IPDT of cellulose fibers fluorinated at 120 ℃ is increased by 60.8% compared to that of pure cellulose fibers.
