Poly (m-phenylene isophthalate) was synthesized by melt Polycondensation from isophthalic acid (IPA) and resorcinol diacetate(RDA). The physicochemical properties of Poly (m-phenylene isophthalate) were investigated by using FT-IR, 1H-NMR and thermal properties were observed by DSC (differential scanning calorimetry) and TGA (thermalgravitry analysis). In the DSC peak, the glass transition temperature (Tg) at 145~150 oC. In the TGA, the thermal decomposition of poly (m-phenylene isophthalate) starts in the temperature range 450 oC ~ 470 oC. The temperature range at which the Poly (m-phenylene isophthalate) showed a 50% weight loss extended from 580 oC to 600 oC. |
