제목 | Effect of Homogeneous Catalysts on Synthesis of Dicyclopentadiene(DCPD)/Silicates Hybrid |
초록 | DCPD (dicyclopentadiene), was synthesized by ROMP (ring opening metathesis polymerization), have excellent properties such as high impact, flexural strength at severe low temperature owing to its network structure with highly cross-linking yield. Tungsten based-catalysts of WCl6, WOCl4 were used for synthesis of DCPD because of lower cost than that of ruthenium-based catalyst (Grubb's catalyst). Diethyl-alumium chloride (Et2AlCl), co-catalyst were employed that have a role to support activity of tungsten catalyst and shorten curing time. In present study we examined that different kinds catalysts influence upon the reaction rate and their mechanical properties. It is not easy to measure reaction rate for ROMP of DCPD, which occurs within a few minutes. DCPD polymerization have to carry out within glove box because tungsten-based catalysts will be deactivated under air and also do not participate in ROMP of DPCD. We found out that the optimum ratio of catalyst/cocatalyst reveal to maximize the mechanical properties. Flexural strength and impact strength were measured by UTM and notched-type izod impact tester. Finally we will shows that the relations of reactivity between content of silicate and used catalysts effects on the gelation time, cross-linking yield, and their mechanical properties of DCPD/silicate hybrid. |
