An ideal feature for a gas separation membrane that is to be considered as an attractive option for large-scale separations to achieve would be high permeance unaccompanied by significant decrease in selectivity. With the aid of cross-linking, due to reduced chain flexibility, highly permeable polymer can be transformed in to a sieve membrane that has well-defined pores. Herein, we devise a polymer molecular sieve membrane with functionalizable sites. Polymer molecular sieve membrane was post-synthetically modified by substituting the site with different alkyl-amines. Newly appeared well-defined pores guaranteed high permeability of the membrane whereas introduced amines further increased the selectivity. |
