Emissive Graphene Quantum Dots Fabricated for Blue Light Emitting Diodes |
초록 |
The emergence of fluorescent graphene quantum dots (GQDs) promises a new class of optical material with useful properties of tunable luminescence, superior photostability, low toxicity, and chemical resistance. Here we demonstrate a novel approach by Graphite intercalation compounds (GICs) to produce high quality GQDs with high quantum yields.. Furthermore, the carrier dynamics in fluorescence of GQDs are in-depth investigated in order to shed light on the mysterious origins of their fluorescence. To make the best of these GQDs with the high QYs, we directly employed the first GQD light-emitting diodes (GQD-LEDs) with electroluminescence that exceeds 1,000 cd/m2. The GQDs of new types will allow control of the fundamental properties of materials through intrinsic/extrinsic effects, which will further allow new devices to be developed with extraordinary properties and functions for numerous applications. |
