A new series of poly[9′,9′dioctanyl-2,7-flourene-alt-5,5-(4′,7′-di-2-thienyl-2′,1′,3′-benzothiadiaz- ole)-alt-N-9′-heptadecanyl-3,6-carbazole](PFC-DTBT-1) and poly[9′,9′dioctanyl-2,7-flourene-alt-5,5-(4′,7′-di-2-thienyl-2′,1′,3′-benzothiadiazo-le)-alt-N-9′-heptadecanyl-2,7-carbazole] (PFC-DTBT-2) had been synthesized. UV-Vis and photoluminescence spectrophotometers, cyclic voltammeter were used to characterize the photophysical and electrochemical properties of the copolymers. In contrast with poly[9′,9′dioctanyl-2,7-flourene-alt-5,5-(4′,7′-di-2-thienyl-2′,1′,3′-benzothiadiazole)] (PF-DTBT), the reference polymer without carbazole dopant, the copolymers containing carbazole dopant exhibited a broad absorption and a narrow band gap about 1.87 eV. According to this result, we expected that the organic photovoltaic devices composing of fluorene-based copolymers with carbazole dopant could show enhanced photovoltaic performances. |
