제목 | Nanostructured Oxide Structures for Photoelectrochemical Reduction of CO2 |
초록 | Recent industrial developments have led to an increase in the use of fossil fuels and thus carbon dioxide emission increases. Therefore, the need for carbon dioxide reduction and utilization is highly required for the sustainable society. Utilization of carbon dioxide can be achieved by the reduction of it into other useful materials. Among them, photoelectrochemical conversion technology using solar energy is attractive for an eco-friendly future technology. In this technology, semiconductors are used as photocatalyst that generate electrons and holes by absorbing light resulting in the reduction of carbon dioxide. These photocatalysts must be chemically stable, economically inexpensive and be able to utilize a wide range of light. Wide-bandgap oxide such as TiO₂ is widely used as a photocatalyst, but there is a limit to being used alone so the application of dye sensitization, junction of semiconductor and metal doping is actively researched. In this study, new photocatalysts of nanostructured oxides have been designed and their carbon dioxide reduction capabilities will be tested. |
