제목 Stretchable and ultrathin polymer dielectrics via vapor-phase synthesis for intrinsically stretchable, low-power electronics
초록 To realize intrinsically stretchable electronics, it is important to design each component smartly to overcome tradeoff between mechanical and electrical performances. However, the dielectric still exhibits insufficient performance compared to other components of the stretchable devices. In this research, an ultrathin and stretchable dielectric film was newly synthesized by copolymerizing tetrahydrofurfuryl acrylate (THFA) and di(ethylene glycol) divinyl ether (DEGDVE). The stretchable dielectric with optimum condition showed a dielectric constant greater than 4.3, and extremely low leakage current density with the thickness of 125 nm. Moreover, the dielectric performances were fully retained under the 80% strain and the capacitance values were maintained stably after repeated stretching over 1000 cycles. The intrinsically stretchable organic thin film transistors (OTFTs) were fabricated by using the developed stretchable dielectric, and the device was capable of low voltage operation (< 10 V). In addition, the stretchable OTFTs maintained ideal device performances even under 50% strain, and finally we also demonstrated the intrinsically stretchable 5 × 5 OTFT array.
