Poly-silicate Iron (PSI) coagulant synthesis and its optimization |
초록 |
Separation of toxic chemicals from the industrial waste effluent is a more economic and needed process that has been fulfilled by coagulant method. In recent past, aluminum based poly-silicate (PSA) were popularly used in industrial effluents treatment, but strong environmental regulations and health hazardous of PSA forced to find an alternative coagulant. Iron based poly-silicate (PSI) is emerged as new environmental friendly coagulant that preparation method is available only by hindered literature. So, the preparation and its characterization is essential process that is our main focus. We have attempted to synthesize the PSI coagulants from the sodium silicate with suitable acid by adjusting ratio of Si to Fe. The prepared coagulants were characterized by pH, ζ-potential, conductivity, viscosity and turbidity etc. and the results will be presented. |
