Controllable Synthesis of Type-II Semiconductor Nanostructures |

A series of dot, rod and tetrapod-shaped CdSe/CdTe nanocrystals having a type II heterostructure can be synthesized by a facile route, i.e. using oleic or myristic acid as a complex agent and 1-octadecene as a solvent. The size and morphology of CdSe/CdTe heterostructure nanocrystals can be tuned through not only controlling injection and growth time and temperature, but also the concentrations of monomers and complex agents. The yield of this approach is high and the cost is very low. Moreover, it provides a potential approach to produce various II–VI heterostructure multi-shaped nanocrystals. |
