제목 Development of the enzyme-mimetic catalysts from the self-assembly of histidyl bolaamphiphiles
초록 Bolaamphiphile is a kind of amphiphiles that has hydrophilic groups at the both ends of the long central hydrophobic chain. We developed a histidyl bolaamphiphile that adopted histidine as a hydrophilic moiety with the central hydrophobic alkyl chain. The histidyl bolaamphiphiles self-assembled in aqueous solution to build spherical structures where the histidine imidazoles were exposed to the surface. Exploiting the surface-exposed histidine imidazoles, a carbonic anhydrase (CA)-mimetic catalyst was prepared. Catalytic activity of the prepared CA-mimetic catalyst was extensively investigated with consideration of the effect of the Zn salt and other physicochemical conditions. The assemblies of the histidiyl bolaamphiphiles were applicable for the development of other biomimetic catalyst by changing the coordinating metal ions.
