Collagen is regarded as one of the most useful biomaterials. Its biological characters are biocompatibility, biodegradability, and weak antigenecity. PMMA has long been known as bone cement and has been used in cosmetic surgery. PMMA microspheres are biologically inert and nondegradable. Modified PMMA microspheres with aldehyde groups were used as the support for collagen immobilization. Modified PMMA microspheres were prepared by dispersion polymerization. After, collagen was immobilized in modified PMMA. Immobilized collagen on the modified PMMA is nontoxic, biocompatible. So These microspheres can use injectable augmenting agent for cosmetic fillers. We made immobilized collagen on the modified PMMA, and analyzed their properties. |
