제목 | A Study on the Blends of PP and Surface Treated PET fibers with PP-g-MAH as Compatibilizer |
초록 | The PP/PET blend is a typical incompatible polmer blend system. Accordingly, we are in need of a compatibilizer to provide good interfacial properties between PP and PET. However, PP/PET fiber blends have weak interfacial properties regardless of the addition of PP-g-MAH as compatibilizer. In this study, PET fibers were pretreated in NaOH solution to induce hydrophilic groups on the surface. These surface treated PET fibers were found to show excellent interfacial adhesion with PP-g-MAH. Then the untreated and treated PET fibers and their respective blends with PP were studied by FT-IR and SEM, and their mechanical properties were also investigated. |
