제목 The Interfacial Characteristics and Mechanical Properties of Polymeric Fiber Reinforced Composite
초록 Polymeric fiber reinforced composites have relatively higher elongation and lighter weight than inorganic fiber reinforced composites. However, it has to be considered to take an appropriate matrix polymer, which has a much lower melting temperature compared with that of the polymeric fiber, not to disrupt the polymeric fiber. Also a proper compatibilizer should be used to enhance the compatibility. This polymeric fiber reinforced composite would be useful in the field of polymer blends as well as a recycling of clothes.
In this study, polyester fiber reinforced PP composite was prepared by using BRABENDER mixer and twin screw extruder. PP-g-MAH and EPDM-g-MAH were used as a compatibilizer in this composite system. The mechanical properties and the interfacial characteristics were investigated by using INSTRON tensile tester and SEM, DSC and DMA.
