제목 A numerical model to simulate frost growth and its effects on a LNG ambient air vaporizer
초록 Ambient air vaporizer (AAV) is the key equipment in LNG vaporization process. LNG is vaporized using a “vaporizer” before entering the gas pipeline. Utilization of ambient air will not only save expensive fuel and the operating cost but will help in reducing the emissions significantly. Current innovations are focused on developing systems that can capitalize on another source of “free” heat energy from the ambient air. This research presents a numerical model of AAV which can compute the frost density, frost thickness and LNG temperature according to the operation time and length in AAV. The model results were validated by comparison with the trial test data of AAV. Numerous results can be obtained and analyzed from air temperature, humidity and speed, and LNG flowrate & temperature. The main results are LNG properties at AAV outlet and frost density & thickness.
