제목 Stabilization of Carbonic Anhydrase for Efficient Capture of Carbon Dioxide via Corynebacterium Cell Display
초록 Mineral carbonation is the most effective carbon capture technique, but the reaction is too slow for industrial applications. Therefore, highly efficient biocatalyst, carbonic anhydrases (CAs), have been widely studied for CO2 capture. Unfortunately, their practical uses are restricted by their poor stability and high cost. Here we introduced a new biological platform for the stabilization of CA using cell display. Neisseria gonorrhoeae CA (ngCA) was displayed on the mycolic layer of Corynebacterium glutamicum via genetic modification using an anchoring protein porinB  with a triplet of a G4S linker. This whole-cell catalyst maintained the activity to 60 % after 24 h of the incubation at 60 oC, while the activity of commercial CA dropped to below 10 %. We expect that Corynebacterium display is a promising approach to achieve a thermally stable and economic enzymatic system for CO2 capture.
