제목 Development of Cu impregnated hierarchically structured MFI zeolite on Hydrocarbon trap
초록 The 80% of hydrocarbon (HC) from automobile exhaust gases are emitted at cold-start region, which three-way catalyst not activated. Thus, HC trap which adsorbs the HC at low temperature (~ 300 C) must be essential. We synthesized a hierarchically structured zeolite (self-pillared pentasil; SPP) of MFI nanosheet in various Si / Al. Then, we impregnated 5 wt% Cu with Si/Al of 22 to use as a improved HC trap. The resulting particles show that not only high HCs adsorption, but oxidation ability at high temperature. The adsorption ability was due to the large number of Cu ions, and the oxidation ability can be attributed to well dispersed CuO particles. Also, more desirably, it holds the adsorption ability even in the presence of 10% H2O, and furthermore, oxidizing HCs.
