제목 Indium(III)-Catalyzed Benzannulation for 2-Hydroxybenzophenones and Their Application as Sun-protecting Materials
초록 Benzophenones are present in an abundance of biologically active natural products and pharmaceuticals.1 In addition, they have been widely used as active ingredients in sun-protection products.2
Herein, we present an efficient and highly regioselective synthesis of diverse and functionalized 2-hydroxybenzophenone derivatives with excellent yield via the indium(III)-catalyzed reaction of 3-formylchromones or  elcetron-deficient chromone-fused dienes with β-enamino esters or β-enamino ketones.3 This reaction proceeds via a domino Michael/retro-Michael/Diels-Alder/deformylation reaction. The synthesized compounds were furthermore screened as important lead compounds for the discovery of new sun-protection materials.
