Nanoscale morphologies of block copolymer have drawn public interest during recent decades on account of their wide-spread uses in diverse applications such as patterning, electrochemical devices, and magnetic storage media. In the body of literatures, the type of nanostructures of block copolymers has been varied by changing temperature, composition, and Flory-Huggins interaction parameter of constituents. In present study, we show the new methodology to tune the nanoscale morphology of block copolymer by the attachment of ionic functional groups. The effect of the introduction of ionic moieties on intra- and inter-molecular structures of block copolymers was investigated. Phase behavior of those copolymers was identified by combining small angle X-ray scattering and transmission electron microscopy. |
