Poly(oxymethylene) (POM) was superior in mechanical properties, creep resistance, fatigue resistance and friction wear resistance. However, weak points of POM blend system are low elasticity and low modulus. PLLA is too brittle for room-temperature applications. Therefore, it can be toughened through blending with other polymers. In this work, we studied POM’s compatibility with Poly-L-Lactic Acid(PLLA) in order to improve the modulus and biodegrable property of POM blend system. Blend compositions of POM/PLLA were 100/0, 90/10, 80/20, 70/30, 60/40 and 50/50, respectively. The morphology and mechanical properties were characterized by FESEM, DMA, UTM and izod impact tester. As a result, we could find the composition of 60/40 in POM/PLLA blends has the highest modulus behavior. |
