Highly Efficient Solid-State Photoluminescence of Graphene Quantum Dots Embedded in Boron Oxynitride and its Application for Electroluminescent Device |

In this study, we prepared graphene quantum dots embedded boron oxynitride (GQDs-BNO) via microwave heating from the mixture of GQDs, boric acid, and urea in water. The GQDs-BNO powder shows strong intrinsic blue emission upon the UV excitation, due to the matrix-assisted aggregation suppressing of solid-state GQDs. A noteworthy feature is a high PL-QY of GQDs-BNO, up to 23%, which is 5 folds higher than that of pristine GQDs in water. With the high PL-QY of powdered GQDs-BNO, an alternating current powder electroluminescent (ACPEL) device using GQDs-BNO as an emitting layer, was successfully fabricated. |
