제목 Preparation and Characterization of PLA/HNT nanocomposites by surface modification of HNT
초록 Poly(lactic acid) (PLA) is one of representative biodegradable thermoplastic polymers, which has good mechanical properties and biocompatibility. It was widely used in biomedical and degradable fields. However, due to brittleness and poor thermal stability, it is limited the manufacturing process and applications.  
Therefore, in this study, PLA/halloysite nanotube (HNT) nanocomposites were prepared by melt-blending using unmodified/modified HNTs with polyethylene imine (PEI) based agents depending on the different HNT contents. The surface morphology and dispersion were investigated through scanning electron microscope (SEM) and atomic force microscope (AFM). Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) was used to observe the chemical bonding between PLA and unmodified/modified HNTs. To measure the physical and thermal properties of the nanocomposites, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA) and universal testing machine (UTM) were also used.
