Co-doped zinc sulfide nanoparticles were prepared and used as photocatalysts for the degradation of organic dye. Co-doped zinc sulfide nanoparticles having various compositions of Zn1-XS:Co(X=0.02, 0.04, 0.06, 0.08 and 0.1) were obtained. The characterization of photocatalyst was carried out using XRD and UV-vis DRS. It was observed that the photocatalytic activity of Co-doped zinc sulfide was varied with mole ratio of cobalt to zinc. The effects of reaction conditions, such as dosage of photocatalyst and initial concentration of dye, on reaction rate were also investigated. |
