An amphiphilic nanostructured block-graft copolymer poly(styrene-b-butadiene-b-styrene)-g-poly(oxyethylene methacrylate) (SBS-g-POEM) was synthesized for preparing highly ion-conductive polymer electrolyte. This electrolyte has high ionic conductivity and mechanical stability thus solid-state flexible supercapacitor could be fabricated. SBS-g-POEM can be synthesized by facile one-pot free-radical polymerization. The SBS domain is acted as main chains for good dimensional strength with hydrophobic property while hydrophilic POEM is acted as side chains for ion conducting nano channels. For its hydrophilic property, POEM has preferential interaction with lithium salt. Several conditions were experimented for investigating the performance tendency. Ex) changing the grafting ratio of SBS to POEM, the concentration of components, the POEM side chain length, and the operating temperature, a structure-property relationship. By this, fabricated solid-state flexible supercapacitor which consists of carbon paper based electrode and SBS-g-POEM shows much higher performance than with the conventional PVA/H3PO4 electrolytes. |
