제목 | Properties of Rigid Polyurethane Foams with Blowing Agents and Catalyst |
초록 | Rigid polyurethane foams (PUFs) were prepared from polymeric 4,4-diphenylmethane diisocyanate (PMDI) having functionality of 2.9, polyether polyol based on pentaerithritol, silicone surfactant, amine catalysts, and distilled water, cyclopentane, and hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) as blowing agents. The kinetic rate of forming the PUF increased with the catalyst and water content. The cell size of the PUF sample decreased with an increase in the amount of catalyst, which was the blowing or gelling catalyst. In the case of the PUF sample blown by chemical blowing agent such as water, the amount of the blowing catalyst had no significant influence on the density and the compressive strength of the PUF sample. The PUF sample blown by the physical blowing agent such as cyclopentane had smaller cell size than the PUF sample blown by the chemical blowing agent such as water, at equal density. The PUF sample blown by mixed blowing agent (mole of cyclopentane / mole of water = 7 / 3) had lower thermal conductivity than the PUF sample blown by cyclopentane or water only, at the equal mole content of the blowing agents. This result might be due to the increase in the stability of the PUF foams.
