제목 New CNT Composites Anchored with Three Different Quantum Dots Utilizing Full Solar Spectrum for Photovoltaic Applications
초록 Carbon nanotubes and polymer nanotubes functionalized with quantum dots have been studied recently as active materials in inorganicorganic hybrid photodetectors and photovoltaics. Quantum dots act as efficient, band-gap tunable exciton generators active over full spectrum of solar radiation from UV-Vis to IR region of the spectrum depending on the size and materials. Carbon nanotubes coupled with quantum dots also act as electron carriers that will separate and carry the electrons from the excitons generated at the quantum dots. In the presented work we describe the synthesis and characterization of nanocrystal-functionalized carbon nanotubes for broadband photoharvesting. We have employed a thiol terminated pyrene derivative as a spacer between the quantum dots and carbon nanotubes. We have achieved nanocrystal-CNTs nanocomposites which are broad band active by ligating the pyrene linker with all the different quantum dots described above and functionalizing them to the same CNTs.
