제목 Preparation of GNP/TiO2 composite as a cathode material for Li-O2 batteries
초록 Owing to the extremely high energy density, Li-O2 batteries have been attracted much attention as a next-generation energy storage system. Since the electrochemical properties are highly dependent on the performance of air electrode, the development of high performance cathode materials is necessary for the practical application of Li-O2 batteries.
Titanium dioxide (TiO2) has been widely applied in many research areas due to its excellent electrochemical and physical properties. Nevertheless, it has rarely been reported as a catalyst in Li-O2 batteries. In this work, the composite of TiO2 as a catalyst and graphene nanoplatelet (GNP) as a catalyst support was synthesized and developed into a cathode material for Li-O2 batteries. The cathode was prepared by microwave-assisted hydrothermal method with glucose, which plays an important role as a carbon source as well as a structure-directing agent. The hydrothermal carbonization induces the transformation of glucose into carbon, and glucose-oriented aromatic network structures connect TiO2 and GNP, resulting in the formation of GNP/TiO2 composite. The GNP/TiO2 composite was assembled into Li-O2 cell and its electrochemical performances were investigated.
