Preparation of Electrospun PPO/CNT Nanofiber |

Poly(2,6-dimethyl-p-phenylene oxide) is one of the commercial engineering plastics which is commonly used in the housing of electrical devices. Because of the high melting temperature and melt viscosity of PPO, PPO was blended with polystyrene to improve its processibility. In this study, PPO and PPO/CNT nanofiber were prepared by electrospinning method with a mixture of DMF/chloroform solution. The tip to collector distance(TCD) was 18 cm and the high-voltage suppler was used to generate DC voltage of 17kV. The flat metal net was used as a collector. The CNT/PPO nanofiber was characterized with SEM, TGA, and DSC. It was found that the average diameter of the nanofiber containing 0.5 wt.-% of CNT was 800nm. |
