NO, CO Gas Sensing Characteristics of Cobalt doped ZnO-Carbon Nanotube Composites |

Cobalt doped ZnO-Carbon nanotube composites (Co doped ZnO-CNT) were synthesized through carbon nanotube of Co doped ZnO using pulsed laser deposition. Their Co doped ZnO-CNT composite structures were confirmed by SEM, the morphology and crystallinity of Co doped ZnO-CNT composites showed that CNTs were uniformly coated with Co doped ZnO with a grain size as small as 10nm. Gas sensing measurements clearly indicated a remarkable enhancement of the sensitivity of Co doped ZnO-CNT composites for NO, CO gas compared to that of ZnO-CNT composites. Cobalt were caused increasing electron in gas sensor material and increasing electrons were improved gas sensing sensitivity because they helped a reponse between gas detection material and NO, CO gas. The enhanced electron concentration were decreased surface resistance. These result suggest that the Co doped ZnO-CNT composite is promising solid-state semiconducting gas sensor. |
