제목 바이오플라스틱의 합성, 응용, 운명 Synthesis, applications, and fate of bioplastics
초록 More than 300 million tonnes of plastic are produced each year. However, less than 10% of that is recycled.  Biodegradable plastic is emerging as a material that can solve this problem. The use of petroleum-derived plastics is an act of discharging underground carbon sources to the ground. In order to solve these problems, the use of bio-derived plastics is in the spotlight. However, bioplastics have been criticized for lacking thermal and mechanical properties. We have developed biobased and biodegradable plastics with high performances. In addition, I would like to introduce the applications of our novel bioplastics: 1) food packagings, 2) face masks, 3) cosmetic microbeads. Importantly, we have studied the fate of biodegradable plastics when they spilled into the ocean and soil.
