제목 Toxicity classification using recombinant bioluminescent bacteria with katG, sodA and pqi promoter in the a multi-channel continuous monitoring system
초록 A multi-channel system was developed for continuous toxicity monitoring and classification of toxicity. This system consists of a series of parallel two-stage minibioreactors, in which the recombinant bioluminescent bacterial cells were growing actively in the first stage minibioreactors, while the fed cells from the first reactors were mixed with toxic samples in the second minibioreactors.
Each channel was used for cultivating different recombinant bacterial strains, such as EBHJ2 (sodA::luxCDABE), EBJM1 (pqi-5::luxCDABE) and DK1 (katG::luxCDABE). EBHJ2 can be able to detect contaminants which cause oxidative damage or unbalance through increases in ROS. DK1 is sensitive to H2O2. EBJM1 has shown sensitive response to paraquat, a superoxide radical-generating agent. By using different bioluminescent strains, the ability of the multi-channel system to classify toxicity can be enhanced.
