Organic vertical field-effect transistors are anattractive alternative to organic electronics for maximizing the deviceperformances due to its higher transition frequency and current densitycompared with typical organic transistors. Also, the detection technologies of circularly polarized light (CPL)are promising for various applications ranging from optical quantum computingto encrypted communication. However,it still suffers from distinguishing two states of CPL in a direct andintrinsic way. In this research, we fabricated vertical field effecttransistors based on an achiral polymer mixed with a chiral dopant, promisingfor large-area low-cost chiroptical applications. In this system, we confirmedCPL detection in visible wavelength region and observed lower voltage operationthan typical organic field-effect transistor due to its short channelarchitecture. Our systematic study demonstrates a novel method for detectingCPL in a high dissymmetry factor. |
