In order to increase the thermal properties of epoxy composites, expanded graphite (EG) was oxyfluorinated and added to epoxy resin. Thermal characteristics of EG/ epoxy composite was investigated with transient plane source method, DSC, and TGA. Thermal conductivity have reached 0.3935 W/mK, which is 62% increase compared to that of neat epoxy. Glass transition temperature (Tg) and integral procedural decomposition temperature (IPDT) also increased maximum of 4.4% and 264 ℃ from neat epoxy. These results shows oxyfluorination of EG helped to form strong interaction between epoxy and EG. |
