제목 Intervertebral Disc Regeneration Using Annulus Fibrosus Cellon Purified Alginate Sponge
초록 The application of annulus fibrosus (AF) cells is promising therapeutic approach for intervertebral disc regeneration. In this study, purified alginate sponge were used in intervertebral disc regeneration. AF cells were seeded in purified and non-purified alginate sponge, and then cell viability analyzed by MTT assay after 3, 7, 10 and 14 days. RT-PCR was assessed to measure mRNA expression for type I, II collagen and aggrecan from AF cells in purified and non-purified alginate sponge. The alginate sponge evaluated by histology through H&E, Safranin-O and MTS staining in vivo. From the results of the RT-PCR and histology staining characteristic of AF cell in the purified alginate sponge reduced better than non-purified alginate sponge. This result indicates that purified alginate sponge is useful for intervertebral disc regeneration. This research was supported by WCU (R31-20029) and XRC (A040004).
