Acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSA) are used in various industrial application. The acrylic copolymers, as the base resin for PSA, were synthesized by solution polymerization of 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate, and acrylic acid with AIBN as an initiator. Graphenes were modified with oxygen plasma for the improved dispersion in acrylic copolymer matrix. Adhesion performance and the thermal characteristics of acrylic PSA were studied depending on the content of oxygen plasma treated graphene. The adhesion performance of PSA was investigated using probe tack, peel strength, and contact angle test. The thermal property of PSA was studied with TGA. The adhesion strength of PSA decreased with graphene content but the thermal stability of PSA was improved by incoporating the plasma treated graphenes. |
