Preparation of Chelated Iron Complexes and H2S Removal Activity |

Liquid desulfurization catalyst of iron chelated complexes were prepared using alpha-hydroxy acids(AHAs, citrate acid and tartarate) and ethylene diamine tetraacetate (EDTA) as chelating materials, respectively. The typical catalyst solution contained [Fe]=10,000 ppm with the 10% excess equivalent ratio of chelate materials and the pH=8.0 using phosphate buffer solution. The desulfurization performance of Fe (III)/Fe (II) chelating agents was investigated on a simulated sulfur-containing industrial gas composed of H2S and N2 in a liquid-gas reactor. In desulfurization process, the diluted liquid catalyst solutions were sprayed from the top against up-stream H2S gas. The H2S gas removal activity according to the kind of catalyst solution, catalyst concentration, reaction period, and reproducibility was systematically compared. |
