Unveiling the Role of Surface Hydroxyl Group on Rh1 / ZrO2 for Direct Methane Conversion |

Surface hydroxyl groups were controlled by hydrothermal treatment in order to generate the hydrogenated environment of ZrO2 surface. Gaseous oxygen was used as co-oxidant with H2O2 for O2Rh site regeneration in direct methane conversion. Enhance methanol productivity with diluted H2O2 concentration was achieved after catalyst underwent the hydrothermal treatment and gaseous oxygen was injected with H2O2. Surface hydroxyl groups and single atomic Rh species after hydrothermal treatment were also investigated by various characterizations. The role of surface hydroxyl groups was clarified by correlating remaining surface hydroxyl groups before and after methane conversion reactions. From this analysis, the role of oxidants in direct methane conversion was clarified. |
