Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene (ABS) plastic is one of the most frequently used polymers in electrical and electronic equipment. As the production of ABS increases, recycling waste disposal becomes a problem. Thereby, recycling of ABS is important to reduce environmental issues. However, during reprocessing, recycled ABS (r-ABS) undergoes an aging effects, especially at polybutadiene. When thermal oxidative decomposition occurs in polybutadiene, it causes deterioration of mechanical properties of ABS. In this work, an excellent impact modifier, styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) was used to improve the impact strength. Furthermore, the optimal process conditions of r-ABS/SBS blending was identified for enhancing mechanical properties. |
