Synthesis and Properties of Novel Ionic Liquids: Pyrrolinium with Alkoxy Substituents as Electrolytes for Lithium Ion Secondary Battery. |

Ionic liquids (ILs) are salts existing in liquid at room temperature even if they are composed of ionic species, cations and anions. Due to the ionic nature in bonding, they show unique properties such as high ionic conductivity and high thermal stability. In this study, the pyrrolinium-TFSI or FSI ILs with an alkyl group bonded to an oxygen atom have both higher decomposition temperature and wider electrochemical windows than the carbonate electrolytes. In addition, these pyrrolinium-based ILs showed a good cycling performance at room temperature. |
