제목 Metal Nanoparticles-Assembled Mutliwalled Carbon Nanotubes
초록 Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have attracted a great deal of interest for their engineering applications such as electronic devices, biosensors and field emission displays, due to their extraordinary physical, chemical, and structural properties, such as their electrical, mechanical and thermal characteristics. To optimize the use of CNTs in many of these applications, there is a need to attach functional groups to their surface and then assemble the CNTs into structures or attach other nanostructures to the CNTs. In the present study, gold nanoparticles were introduced to the wall of amino-functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT). Homogeneously distributed gold nanoparticles on MWCNTs were investigated by transmission electron microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. Assembling metal particles on MWCNTs might be used to identify the location of functional groups of MWCNTs and to improve the coductivity of polymer/MWCNT composites as well.
