제목 The rheological and mechanical interfacial properties of carbon fibers-reinforced thermoplastic composites by PEI/SPEEK blends
초록 Carbonfibers (CF) have been applied as reinforcing materials in composites becausethey have several advantageous properties, such as excellent thermal propertiesand high mechanical properties. However, carbon fibers are brittle anddifficult to form physical bonding with matrix resins. Therefore, carbon fibersare generally coated by a sizing layer on the surface, which is usuallyobtained from a solution or emulsion consisting of epoxy resins. For poly(etherether ketone) (PEEK), polyimides (PEI), and other high temperaturethermoplastic polymers, the functional groups provided by the epoxy sizing donot react chemically with these polymers and result in weak interfacial shearstrengths. In this work, we investigate the rheological behaviors of twotype of samples: PEEK reinforced with polyether imide (PEI) and sulfonated PEEK(SPEEK) reinforced with PEI. The melt viscosity and rheological behaviors ofthe PEEK/PEI blends were studied by rheometer.
