Design of a crossflow filtration system
This paper proposes design steps for a crossflow filtration system. The designs procedure is based primarily upon the particle size of the suspended matter, suction velocity, solid and liquid densities, liquid viscosity, filter cake thickness and the specific resistance of the filter cake. The critical shear stress is used to work out the design parameters such as axial velocity, pipe diameter or duct dimensions, filtration pressure and filtration area.
