A mathematical model of microbial cultivation in a thin layer of solid substrate
A mathematical model of microbial growth in a thin layer of a solid substrate is described. The model includes dependencies of growth rate and heat generation on temperature. Parameters of the model have been estimated for the culture of Aspergillus niger under isothermal conditions. Results of calculation show an importance of heat transfer through a tray. The height of the bed is essential for the process.
