DEM-Simulation of the Oblique Impact of Modeled Granules
The normal and oblique impact of a granule against a rigid wall has been simulated using the Discrete Element Method. The granule consists of 1000 primary particles. To calibrate the mechanical properties, the force-displacement behavior at simulated compression test has been fitted to the force-displacement behavior of zeolite 4A granules. The results of the impact simulation at different impact angles are compared to experimental results of zeolite 4A granules.
