Thermal Streaks Regeneration in the Wake of a Disturbance in a Turbulent Boundary-Layer
The temperature field on the surface of a wall, in the wake of a rib placed in the spanwise direction, is studied by using infrared thermography. Experimental data on distribution of the heat transfer coefficient are present for various Reynolds numbers, as well as for different inclinations of the rib to the wall. The effect of flow perturbations on the temperature of the surface is studied. A phenomenological model is proposed to describe the evolution of the temperature field.
